Here's the top with the comleted rosette for my grandaughter's guitar. The neck will extend down enough to cover the inlay flub dub. DOH!

Looks good, Doug. I really like that top - it's got a lot of character.

Doug, I'm with Bruce. That top just oozes character.
And the rosette looks great against the redwood. (It is redwood, right?) She will be thrilled.

Thanks guys. It does seem like it has character. Sorry Steve, it's not redwood. It bearclaw WRC that I got from Shane at High Mountain Tonewood, who by the way will be visiting me tomorrow. He's in town on a business trip and will be staying with my wife and I for the night. One of the great things about this forum is sometimes you get to meet the people you write to or who write to you.
Bending the sides next, though that probably won't be till next week. I'll keep you posted.

That's ok, it's pretty anyway, and the important thing is that she will love it!

Walter,
I wish she could be, but she's 1100 miles away. But my sneaky little mind is already thinking of ways to tell her mother, "If she wants it, she's gonna have to come get it."

I'm getting the sides preped for bending today, but I probably won't get to it till next week.

Very nice work Doug. Clean inlay job with now chip outs on the routing. Your flub dub is in the perfect location. You couldn't have planned it better if you tried. I know your grandaughter will love it. It's from the heart...there's no better gift.
